There will be zero tolerance against corruption – Adilur Rahman Khan, Industry Advisor

Adilur Rahman Khan, Advisor to the Interim Government’s Ministry of Industry, said, “We have come to power on the basis of people’s movement and blood.” There is no option but to be strict against corruption. There will be zero tolerance against corruption. And elimination of gas crisis in industry, reduction of losses of the ministry and production of fertilizer will be given priority.

An exchange meeting was held at the conference room of the Ministry of Industry in Motijheel of the capital on Saturday (August 10). The industrial adviser said these things while talking to the journalists after the meeting.

There are allegations of corruption in institutions under the Ministry of Industries, particularly the Sugar and Food Industries Corporation. What will be done about this? Adilur Rahman Khan said in response to such questions from journalists, we have discussed this matter.

We came to the responsibility through people’s movement and blood. There is no option but to be tough against corruption. We will try to work as much as possible in our short time, which we have brought the mandate of the students in this mass movement from a very strict position regarding corruption. There is no question of corruption here.

We will have zero tolerance for corruption. Our team will be vigilant about the question of unfairness. It is our responsibility to make the future different.

Industrial adviser said, we have some plans for small scale industries here. There is an effort to work on some environmental friendly issues.

For example, Savar has a leather processing town, making it eco-friendly. We have discussed these things so that there should be this plan in the shipping industry. We will sit every day. Everything will be done to move the work forward. The team here is very strong. Here are some inter-ministerial discussions. Gas is needed to run the ministry, Ghorashal fertilizer factory also has it. We are looking at it.

Due to gas shortage, fertilizers have to be imported from abroad. In response to a question from journalists, he said, “We have discussed it. We will work as far as possible. We have prioritized industrial production. So that we can address the cause of the gas problem. And doing these things will reduce the amount of losses of the Ministry of Industry.

Leather industry is on the verge of destruction due to CETP. Where is the problem? In response to such questions, he said, of course we can solve it.

In response to a question about what initiatives will be taken to alleviate the crisis in Savar’s leather industry, Zakia Sultana, senior industry secretary of the Ministry of Industries, said that due to the gas crisis, several of our fertilizer factories had stopped production. Fertilizers and skins will also be prioritized and work will be done quickly.
