The third meeting of Sub-Committee No. 1 of the Library Committee of the 13th National Parliament was held

Desk Report:

The third meeting of Sub-Committee No. 1 of the Library Committee of the 13th National Parliament was held today, Thursday (May 21, 2026) at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of the Committee Convener Humam Quader Chowdhury, MP. Committee member Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem participated in the meeting.

The meeting discussed the report presented by the IT Division of the National Parliament Secretariat on finalizing the draft list of books available for purchase for preservation in the Bangladesh National Parliament Library and making information search easier through digitization of old and rare documents and parliamentary debates preserved in the National Parliament Library.

In the meeting, the committee recommended taking appropriate and necessary measures to send the DPP of the e-parliament project to ECNEC as soon as possible.

The meeting recommended making the online information search system modern and user-friendly by digitizing one hundred books stored in the Parliament Library and launching an e-book system.

In addition, considering the needs and relevance of the library, it was recommended to present the complete list to the main committee with the aim of finalizing the complete list, including the addition of books related to disappearances, to the draft book list available for purchase.

The concerned officials of the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat were present at the meeting.
