BGMEA Administrator Md. Anwar Hossain said that the import of the garment industry of Chittagong port -oriented garment industry was playing a major role in the export. Most of the country’s export earnings come from the garment industry of 8.25%. He sought the overall cooperation of the port authorities in the export and export activities of the garment industry and requested to reduce various charges and VAT imposed on port services in line with competing countries to maintain the competitive capacity of the industry.
