The benefits of projects implemented with public money must be returned to the people: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam

A meeting to review the progress of the RADP implementation for the month of April 2026 of the 2025-26 fiscal year was held at the conference room of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism on Saturday (May 23, 2026) at 11 am.

Speaking as the chief guest at the meeting, Minister Afroza Khanam, MP said that as per the instructions of the Honorable Prime Minister of the current government, the remaining work of the ongoing projects must be completed as soon as possible. Before taking up any new project in the future for the development of the aviation and tourism sector, its financial feasibility must be properly verified. She further said that it is very important to have a well-planned work plan before constructing any infrastructure or facility. In addition, those concerned must play a more careful and responsible role in monitoring the progress of the contractors’ work.

The Minister said that all concerned should always be vigilant and responsible so that the benefits of the projects implemented with public money actually return to the people. It is very important to ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of the project. To this end, the Minister directed to work by maintaining strict surveillance at all levels.

The meeting, chaired by Ms. Fahmida Akhtar, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, NDC, was also attended by Air Vice Marshal Mustafa Mahmud Siddique, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, along with senior officials of the ministry and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and directors of various ongoing projects.
