Advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Asif Nazrul said that the atrocities of the Awami League in the July uprising have outdone even the occupying forces of Pakistan.
He said, we did not see the scene of burning bodies even in 1971. But the Awami regime showed that in the July uprising.
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘July Genocide Trial and Documentary Exhibition’ organized by the Law Ministry in Dhaka on Tuesday (July 29, 2025).
The Legal Advisor said, we will leave such irrefutable evidence in the trial of the July uprising so that subsequent governments cannot prolong the judicial system.
He also said, trust us, we will show the July massacre at the right time. There is no negligence in this trial process.
The advisor said, for the atrocities we saw on the ground during the July massacre, we are responsible not only to the people but also to the Almighty Allah. Shooting and killing injured students and burning bodies are all crimes against humanity. No war-torn country has ever witnessed such an incident as happened in Bangladesh. We will try these incidents. There is no shortage in our efforts.
Environmental Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Chief Prosecutor of the International War Crimes Tribunal Tajul Islam, July martyr Mughda’s father Mir Mostafizur Rahman, Shaheed Yamin’s father Mohiuddin, among others, also spoke at the event organized by the Ministry of Law.
