Strict action against irregularities in book evaluation, instructions to ensure cheating-free SSC exams: Education Minister

Desk Report:

Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon said that the upcoming SSC and equivalent exams will be organized in a completely cheating-free, transparent and orderly environment across the country. At the same time, no kind of irregularities or negligence will be tolerated in the book evaluation process. If such allegations are proven against any examiner in the audit of books, strict action will be taken against those concerned.

The Education Minister said these things in his speech as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting organized on the occasion of SSC and equivalent exams-2026 with the central secretaries of the Mymensingh Education Board and the Madrasa and Technical Education Boards of the Mymensingh region on Monday (April 6, 2026).

The Minister said that in addition to organizing the exams in a smooth manner, strict adherence to the prescribed policies in book evaluation must be ensured. Any kind of bias, negligence or irregularity in evaluation has a negative impact on the education system. Responsible and professional behavior of examiners is essential to ensure the correct reflection of the real merit and achievements of students.

He said that ensuring cheating-free examinations is the priority goal of the government. All concerned should perform their duties with utmost caution and sincerity so that students can pass according to their qualifications. He also emphasized on maintaining rigor in the management of examination centers and ensuring discipline at every stage.

The Education Minister said that initiatives have been taken to amend the Public Examinations (Offences) Act, 1980 in a timely manner, so that in addition to public examinations, all those concerned can be brought under the law to prevent question leakage, fraud and cheating in various government recruitment examinations.

Referring to some irregularities in the past, he said that the tendency to show artificial success in examination results harms the quality of education. We must completely get rid of such unethical practices and build an accountable and quality education system.

The minister further mentioned that various activities are being implemented to improve the quality of the education system through the continuous efforts of the government. In this regard, the coordinated efforts of teachers, administration and all concerned are very important.

Local parliament members, divisional and district administration officials, senior officials of various education boards, chairmen of madrasas and technical education boards, and other relevant persons from the education sector were present at the exchange of views.
