Necessary steps are being taken to improve the quality of accommodation for police subordinate forces, said Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd).
The advisor made this statement while briefing reporters after visiting three police stations (Airport, Uttara West and Turag) in the northern part of the capital this Saturday (April 19, 2025) afternoon.
The advisor said that the main purpose of today’s inspection was to observe the accommodation arrangements for police subordinate forces. He said that during the inspection, I saw that their accommodation arrangements are very bad. The chief advisor has instructed us on how to improve it. That is why we are inspecting various police stations on the spot.

Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) said that in order to alleviate public suffering and further improve the quality of police station services, each police station in the capital will be shifted to its own place and building. Efforts are being made to raise the necessary funds for this. He said that from September 1, nine police stations will be shifted to their new/own places. Later, other police stations will also be shifted to their own places and buildings in phases.
In response to journalists’ questions regarding harassment in false cases filed during the fascist government, the advisor said that instructions have been given to the police long ago so that no one is harassed in false cases. He instructed the concerned OCs to maintain contact with the media and provide accurate information.
Regarding the law and order situation, the advisor said that the law and order situation is gradually improving. It will improve further with time. Stating that maintaining law and order in a country of 180 million people is not that easy, he said that it took time for journalists to gather and organize in an orderly manner in front of the police station for a press briefing. Similarly, give us time. The law and order situation will improve further. He said that strict action will be taken if the police are found to be indifferent to the activities of the Awami League and the Jhatika procession.
Later, the advisor made a surprise visit to Pallabi Police Station.
