Sri Lanka MICE Expo Concludes with Grand Farewell Dinner at Earl’s Regency Kandy

To mark the conclusion of the Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2025, a grand farewell dinner was hosted on Tuesday (24 September 2025) at the Earl’s Regency Hotel in Kandy for international delegates. The event was attended by tour operators, investors, tourism professionals and around 50 media representatives from 30 countries. From Bangladesh, nine tour operators and one hosted media representative — Mohammad Shajibul-Al-Rajib, Editor of Business In Bangladesh — participated in the program. The evening was graced by Mr. Dheera Hettiarachchi, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau.

This memorable gathering reflected new connections, constructive discussions and a shared vision for the future of Sri Lanka’s growing presence in the global MICE arena.

The farewell dinner also featured a spread of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, which the guests thoroughly enjoyed. Delegates had the opportunity to experience authentic Sri Lankan flavors, gaining insight into the country’s culinary heritage while networking in a festive atmosphere.

The Earl’s Regency Hotel, Kandy is one of Sri Lanka’s premier 5-star hotels. Located approximately 5 kilometers from the heart of Kandy, in Tennekumbura, it sits on the banks of the Mahaweli River surrounded by lush hills, offering guests an enchanting blend of natural beauty and luxury. The hotel boasts 104 rooms across various categories — Deluxe, Premium, Junior Suite, Mini Suite and the Mountbatten Suite — many with private balconies providing stunning views.

It also features multiple restaurants and lounges such as the Mountbatten Lounge and Spice Bar, an outdoor swimming pool, spa, fitness center and other world-class amenities. Renowned for its elegant banquet halls and conference facilities, Earl’s Regency Hotel is a sought-after venue for corporate events and gala dinners in Kandy.

This farewell dinner once again underscored Sri Lanka’s ability to successfully host large-scale international events, showcasing its exceptional hospitality and strengthening its position as a leading destination in the global MICE industry.
