A special meeting of the Advisory Council was held today (29 November 2025) at the office of the Chief Advisor under the chairmanship of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

In today’s special meeting, prayers and supplications were offered for the speedy recovery of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. Religious Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain conducted the prayer.

The draft of the Foreign Donations (Voluntary Activities) Regulation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025 was approved in principle and finally in the meeting. As a result of this amendment, several sections of the current law have been changed, the rules for NGO registration have been simplified, and the conditions for releasing donations have also been simplified. In addition, the draft of the Police Commission Ordinance, 2025 was raised in today’s meeting. The Advisory Council has directed to raise the ordinance in more detail and in a revised form in the next council meeting.

In the meeting, Expatriate Welfare Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul informed the Advisory Council about the imminent release of the remaining 24 people who were imprisoned at various times on charges of participating in the July uprising in the United Arab Emirates.
