Spain wins second World Cup after beating Argentina

Sports Desk:

Spain won the World Cup for the second time by defeating defending champions Argentina 1-0 in the final of the World Cup. The match went into extra time after the tense final ended goalless in the scheduled 90 minutes.

In the 106th minute of extra time, Torres, who came on as a substitute, scored a brilliant goal to give Spain the lead. In the end, the Spanish secured the title with that only goal.

Spain dominated possession and attack throughout the match. On the other hand, Argentina could not return to the match as it was reduced to 10 men at the end. As a result, the Albiceleste’s dream of retaining the title was shattered.

Spain had previously won the World Cup for the first time in 2010. After a long 16 years, La Rosaleda added their second World Cup title to history by becoming the champion of the highest tournament in world football.
