Seminar on ‘Mastering Compliance: Insights and Strategies for Sourcing and Sales Leaders in Responsible Textiles’ held

The 23rd Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2025 – Winter Edition, jointly organized by Conference and Exhibition Management Services (CEMS-Global USA) and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Tex China), is being held for four days from January 15-18. The 7th Dhaka International Denim Show 2025 is being held concurrently.

During the exhibition, a seminar titled ‘Mastering Compliance: Insights and Strategies for Sourcing and Sales Leaders in Responsible Textiles’ was held on January 15 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, co-organized by GCL International Limited.

The seminar was conducted by Jabed Ahmed, Chief Consultant, CEMS-Global and former Additional Secretary to the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The keynote speaker was Professor Md. Mamun Habib PhD. The seminar was also addressed by Md. Roknuzzaman, Managing Director, Rotex Bangladesh Limited; Md. Noor-e-Alam Anik, Deputy Regional Manager (South Asia), GCL International and Farzana Mita, Associate Professor, Additional Head, Apparel Manufacturing Management and Technology (AMMT), Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. More than 150 participants from different sectors participated in the seminar.

The speakers spoke about upstream activities, downstream activities and their key issues. They also spoke about recycling supply chain, reverse logistics, global supply chain challenges, etc. The speakers emphasized the key issues of sustainable sourcing strategies and eco-friendly supply chains for textile sourcing. They also emphasized on maintaining a balance between cost and time, globalization and effective use of technology.
