Bangladesh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir was paid a courtesy call by Saudi Ambassador Dr. Abdullah Jafer H. Bin Abiah. The meeting held at the Police Headquarters on Thursday (July 2, 2026) discussed various issues including expanding police cooperation between the two countries, security and prevention of human trafficking.
During the meeting, which was held in a cordial atmosphere, the Saudi Ambassador expressed his interest in further strengthening mutual cooperation with the Bangladesh Police. He exchanged views on various issues related to business security strategies, verification of rumors and fake information, prevention of human trafficking and security assistance. He also expressed positive interest in Saudi Arabia’s cooperation in enhancing the capacity of Bangladesh Police.
In the meeting, IGP Md. Ali Hossain Fakir emphasized regular dialogue, exchange of information and exchange of best practices between high-level police officials of the two countries. He sought Saudi Arabia’s cooperation in providing training and technical assistance in cyber security, prevention of human trafficking, capacity building of the Bangladesh Police in the healthcare sector, community policing and various security-related issues.
Senior officials of the Bangladesh Police were present during the meeting.
