Religious Advisor Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain inaugurated the three-day national-level Hajj and Umrah Fair 2025 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon, the capital.
Today, Thursday (August 14, 2025), the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) organized this Hajj and Umrah Fair.
This fair will be open to the public for the next three days. Special pictorial reports on the holy Hajj and Umrah will be published at the fair. Various types of booklets related to this will be available at the fair. Many have announced price discounts for those who come to the fair. The stall owners participating in the fair will conduct experiential activities on the holy Hajj and Umrah.
The Religious Advisor thanked those concerned for organizing the Hajj and Umrah Fair and said, “HAB is working in coordination with the Ministry of Religion for smooth Hajj management. Due to this, no Hajj pilgrims suffered during the last Hajj season, and no one even complained. The ministry has taken several steps to ensure a smooth Hajj in 2026.
The religious advisor said, Bangladeshi pilgrims are not used to eating Saudi Arabian food. We will demand from the Saudi authorities that they provide the food that Bangladeshi people eat or are used to. There is a water shortage in Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat. We have to perform ablution with mineral water there.
The advisor said, if we are informed about any other problems, we will contact the Saudi authorities through the ministry and try to resolve them.
HAAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed said, through this fair, customers will get the opportunity to check and select various packages and directly enter into contracts with Hajj agencies without the influence of middlemen. Along with this, discounts ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 taka will be available on the packages.
He said, if the mandatory catering service and house rental rules through Muallim are implemented according to the 2026 Hajj roadmap, there is a fear that the hardship and expenses of the pilgrims will increase. The Ministry of Religion has been asked to take immediate action in this regard. The ministry has written to Saudi Arabia. Now we are waiting for a response.
HAAB President Syed Ghulam Sarwar and other members of the committee were present at the inauguration ceremony.
