The Prime Minister will attend the UN General Assembly with a message of progress of new Bangladesh, said State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir. He also said that there is a possibility of the Prime Minister meeting with US President Donald Trump there.
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs said these things while talking to television journalists at a hotel in the city on Saturday (September 5, 2026) morning.
Humayun Kabir said that the Prime Minister will present the message of progress of new Bangladesh and various initiatives of the government at the UN. There is a possibility of her meeting with US President Donald Trump there.
Regarding the Prime Minister’s possible visit to India, he said that the date and time of the visit to India have not yet been finalized. Discussions are underway between the two countries on this issue.
Talking about the energy sector crisis, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs said that how a ‘psychopathic corruption’ can be done, can be understood if you look at the energy sector. However, the current Prime Minister is giving utmost importance to the energy sector. The government is working sincerely to resolve the crisis in this sector.
Regarding Bangladesh’s joining the Mecca Agreement, Humayun Kabir said that discussions are underway on the matter. Bangladesh’s joining it is not unusual. Currently, many countries are associated with multiple security alliances. Bangladesh will go wherever it needs to go based on national interests.
Regarding buying Boeing aircraft from the United States, he said that there is no pressure on Bangladesh to buy Boeing. Boeing is being bought from the United States because there is a demand from the country. If necessary, more Boeing aircraft will be bought in the future.
Regarding labor export to Malaysia, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs said that during the Awami League government, a syndicate had a negative impact on labor export to Malaysia. The current government has dissolved that syndicate. Now, labor will be exported to Malaysia step by step.
