A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to reopen closed government industries, accelerate privatization activities and attract domestic and foreign investment.
The meeting, held at 3:30 pm on Thursday (July 30) in the meeting room of the Cabinet Division of the Bangladesh Secretariat, discussed in detail the necessary steps to quickly reopen government industries that have been closed for a long time.

The meeting decided that effective measures will be taken to quickly start production activities through private investment by removing the existing bureaucratic complications in reopening closed industries.
At the time, the Prime Minister directed the concerned ministries and organizations to complete this process by 2026. He also directed the concerned authorities to take effective initiatives to ensure an investment-friendly environment to increase domestic and foreign investment in the industrial sector.
