Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the re-excavation of Ulshi Canal (Zia Canal) in Sharsha Upazila of Jessore on Monday (April 27, 2026) as part of the countrywide river, canal and reservoir excavation and re-excavation program.
Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury, State Minister Farhad Hossain Azad, State Minister for Power and Energy Anindya Islam Amit, State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam, and officials of the Ministry of Water Resources and the Water Development Board were present at the time.
