Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Policy and Strategy, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Ministry of Cultural Affairs, said that the trained youth will take the country’s film, television and digital content to new heights at the international level in the future.
The Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Advisor said this at the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the 6th Documentary Film Production Course and the 1st Television Program and Content Production Course on Various Platforms organized by the Bangladesh Film and Television Institute (BCTI) under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Saturday (June 27, 2026).
The Prime Minister’s Advisor handed over the certificates to the trainees and highly praised BCTI’s activities to develop skilled human resources in the country’s film, television and digital content industries. He said that BCTI is playing an important role in producing skilled filmmakers.
In his inaugural speech, BCTI Chief Executive Abul Kalam Mohammad Shamsuddin said that although BCTI is a new institution, it is working with the aim of developing it as the only film and television training institution in Bangladesh, as an international standard institution on the lines of South Korea’s Busan Film Institute and India’s Pune Film Institute.
He said that a project to build a permanent campus for BCTI is currently under process. If the project is implemented, the institution will develop into a more effective and modern training center.
