Prime Minister Tarique Rahman holds office at the Armed Forces Division for the first time

Desk Report:

The Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman, held office at the Armed Forces Division located in Dhaka Cantonment for the first time on Monday (23 February 2026) morning.

The Prime Minister reached his office at 9 am, where he was welcomed by the three service chiefs. The Prime Minister exchanged greetings with the armed forces chiefs and expressed his strong commitment to the country’s security and defense activities.

As per the daily agenda, the Prime Minister presented Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman and Major General Kaiser Rashid Chowdhury with ‘Rank Badges’, which carries significance in recognition of their achievements and responsibilities.

The Prime Minister’s Defense Advisor, Brigadier General Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam, PSC, G (Retd.), Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Mohammad Nazmul Hasan, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hassan Mahmud Khan, Defense Secretary Md. Ashraf Uddin, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibli, Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon and Prime Minister’s Private Secretary-2 Md. Mehedul Islam, among others.
