Prime Minister Tarique Rahman congratulates Bangladesh SAFF Under-20 football team

Bangladesh defeated India in the final of the SAFF Under-20 tournament to become the champion. The Bangladesh team retained the title for the second consecutive time by defeating India 4-3 in the tiebreaker in the final held in Male, Maldives on Friday (April 3, 2026).

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman congratulated the Bangladesh team, including the team’s players, coaches and related officials, on this glorious victory.

In his congratulatory message, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that the government has started implementing all the plans taken to establish sports as a profession. In this context, this success of the youth will inspire the sports-loving people of the country.

Our brave youth, inspired by patriotism and team spirit, have proven that with united efforts, Bangladesh’s triumphant chariot at home and abroad will continue like this.
