Desk Report:
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Divisional Commissioners to work impartially and fearlessly for the welfare of the country and people. He said, “The greatest asset of the state is the trust of the people. Therefore, work impartially and fearlessly for the welfare of the country and people.”

He said these things while addressing the annual conference of the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center on Wednesday (May 6, 2026) night as the chief guest.

The Prime Minister said that trust in the public is gradually built through transparency and accountability of the government and administration. He also expressed hope that the administration officials will be more careful in this regard.

Stating that the government will support the Deputy Commissioners and Divisional Commissioners in any legal and humanitarian initiative, he said, “Administration is not just a tool for enforcing the law, it is an important means of serving the people.”

He also said that Bangladesh has immense potential along with its numerous problems. If the country’s demographic dividend can be utilized to transform the young and working population into skilled manpower, this population will become a national asset.

The Prime Minister said, “Believe me, they are the ones who can change our beloved Bangladesh.”
Regarding the state and social system, she said, a family is the smallest unit of the state. A state is formed by many families. If families are inspired by religious and social values, then state values will also be consolidated.
In this annual conference organized on the occasion of the DC conference, members of the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association as well as their family members also participated.
