Prime Minister Tarique Rahman calls for changing political culture to establish rule of law

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that in order to establish a safe and humane state and society, the rule of law must be ensured in the country and the political culture must be changed.

He said, “It is important to revive the religious, social and cultural values ​​of Bangladesh in our national life. In this regard too, the life and work of poet Nazrul is very relevant for us.”

The Prime Minister said these words after inaugurating a colorful program organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam at the Nazrul Mancha titled ‘Tabu Amare Dev Na Bhulite’ in Trishal, Mymensingh on Saturday (May 23, 2026) afternoon.

Announcing the inauguration of the three-day Nazrul Birth Anniversary Festival, the Prime Minister said, “Bangladesh and Kazi Nazrul Islam are an indivisible entity. He is a successful representative of our national identity, a symbol of our national spirit and a pioneer of nationalism. On the birthday of the national poet, we erase the stain of injustice, injustice, hunger, poverty and division. We embrace Bangladesh first and foremost.”

She also said, “With the determination to dedicate ourselves to a prosperous, self-reliant and democratic Bangladesh, I am announcing the inauguration of the three-day festival of poet Nazrul Birth Anniversary.”

The Prime Minister said, “Kazi Nazrul Islam is an unforgettable name in our national history. His emergence was like a beacon in the fate of the oppressed, oppressed and defeated nations. Our hopes and aspirations, dreams, struggles, literature, culture, history and heritage have been expressed in glorious beauty in his works.”

The event to mark the birth anniversary of the national poet was organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs at the Nazrul Academy Ground in Darirampur, Trishal, which is associated with the poet’s childhood memories.

Minister for Cultural Affairs Nitai Roy Chowdhury presided over the event. State Minister for Culture Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayyam, State Minister for Jute and Textiles Shariful Alam, Secretary for Cultural Affairs Kaniz Maula, District Council Administrator Syed Emran Saleh Prince, Executive Director of the National Poet Kazi Kazi Nazrul Islam Institute Latifur Rahman Shibli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Kabilputri Khilkhil Kazi, Professor of the Bangla Department of Dhaka University Tarikh Manjur, Member of Parliament for Mymensingh-7 constituency Mahbubur Rahman Liton and District Administrator Saifur Rahman spoke at the event.
