Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived in Saidpur to visit various Puja Mandaps (worship venues) in Rangpur on the occasion of Maha Navami—part of the Sharadiya Durga Utsab (Durga Puja festival)—and to exchange greetings with members of the Hindu community.
He landed at Saidpur Airport from Dhaka via a military aircraft at 9:50 AM on Tuesday (October 20).
Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister was welcomed by Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Asadul Habib Dulu, State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad, Rangpur City Corporation Administrator Mahfuz-un-Nabi Chowdhury Don, Chairman of the Rangpur Development Authority Shamsuzzaman Samu, Divisional Commissioner Jahangir Alam, DIG Aminul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Jahan, and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mozammel Haque, along with other senior officials from the administration and law enforcement agencies.
