Prime Minister congratulates Khalilur Rahman on being elected as the President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly

Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on being elected as the President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

In a congratulatory message, the Prime Minister said that Dr. Khalilur Rahman’s achievement is a reflection of Bangladesh’s growing contribution, acceptance and prestige in the international arena.

She expressed hope that as the President of the UN General Assembly, Dr. Khalilur Rahman will further enhance Bangladesh’s image and play an important role in strengthening connectivity, dialogue and cooperation to address various common global challenges.

The Prime Minister also said that under the leadership of Dr. Khalilur Rahman, the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly will play an effective role in advancing international peace, development and multilateral cooperation.

At the time, she wished Dr. Khalilur Rahman all-round success in fulfilling his new responsibilities.
