President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urges expatriates to play more active role in country’s development

His Excellency President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged Bangladeshi businessmen living abroad to invest in the country and bring in foreign investment. The President made this call during a courtesy call on a delegation of Bangladeshi expatriates in the UK at Bangabhaban on Thursday (September 3) afternoon in the company of His Excellency President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. Responding to the President’s call, the delegation expressed interest in investing in the country.

Prominent UK businessman Kamal Uddin led the delegation. They congratulated and congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on being elected President.

His Excellency the President gratefully recalled the outstanding contribution of expatriates living in various countries, including the UK, with money, labor and talent, in the movement to establish justice in the country, oppose fascism and restore democracy. He said that the country and the nation will always remember this contribution and role of the expatriates.

During the meeting, the Bangladeshi delegation residing in the UK sought the President’s cooperation in increasing various business and civil facilities, including harassment at the airport, voting rights. Assuring that the problem will be resolved, His Excellency the President said that the government has already started working to increase the facilities and benefits of the expatriates. The expatriate card has been introduced to ensure complete service system and facilities for the expatriates. The President expressed hope that the government will work more by prioritizing the welfare of the expatriates.

The President also said that you are present in different countries of the world as representatives of Bangladesh. You will portray the positive image of the country abroad. The President expressed gratitude to the expatriates, stating that the remittances of the expatriates are one of the main driving forces of the country’s economy.
