Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Monday to exchange Eid greetings, strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Sharif extended warm Eid wishes to the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the largest festival for Muslims worldwide. He also invited Professor Yunus to visit Pakistan at a mutually convenient time in the coming months.
In response, Professor Yunus conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan on this auspicious occasion, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration among Muslim-majority nations.
Prime Minister Sharif further mentioned that Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, is scheduled to visit Bangladesh in April. The visit is expected to focus on discussions related to mutual interests and strengthening bilateral relations.
The two leaders have previously engaged in diplomatic discussions, having met during the D-8 Summit in Cairo in December and earlier at the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September last year. These engagements indicate a continued effort to foster cooperation and dialogue between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Observers note that such high-level interactions contribute to reinforcing diplomatic ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration in trade, investment, and socio-economic development between the two South Asian nations.
