The Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh hosted a grand reception in Dhaka on Sunday (April 13, 2025) to celebrate Pakistan’s 85th National Day.

The event, held at a prestigious hotel in the capital, was attended by over 400 guests including diplomatic representatives, members of political parties, business community, media, education and academic figures and Pakistani diaspora living in Bangladesh.


Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Honorable Education Advisor to the Government of Bangladesh, was present as the chief guest. He extended his warm greetings and felicitations to the people and government of Pakistan on behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh on the occasion of Pakistan’s National Day.
Pakistan High Commissioner Syed Ahmed Maruf and chief guest Dr. Abrar, in their speeches, emphasized on enhancing bilateral trade, connectivity, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts. They welcomed the positive developments in bilateral relations in recent times and expressed hope for further strengthening cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.

A magnificent coffee table book titled “From Summit to the Sea” was unveiled at the event. Published in both English and Bengali, the book highlights the tourism, natural beauty and history of Pakistan. The High Commissioner described it as a gift to the people of Bangladesh and expressed hope that the book would encourage Bangladeshi readers to travel to Pakistan.


The audience was mesmerized by the captivating cultural performances by artists from different regions of Pakistan at the event. These performances uniquely showcased Pakistan’s diverse culture, heritage and national unity.






The High Commissioner expressed his sincere gratitude to all the guests present, especially the chief guest, government officials, diplomatic corps, media personnel, the Pakistani diaspora and other participants.
