Newly elected MP Nusrat Tabassum Jyoti sworn in for reserved women’s seat

Desk Report:

Speaker of the National Assembly of Bangladesh Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, MP administered the oath to the newly elected MP Nusrat Tabassum Jyoti for the reserved women’s seat of the 13th National Assembly.

On Wednesday (May 6, 2026), the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected MP was held at the Speaker’s office under the chairmanship of Barrister Md. Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat.

It is to be noted that the Speaker of the National Assembly administered the oath to the newly elected MP in accordance with the Third Schedule of Article-148 of the Constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Rule-5 of the Procedure of the National Assembly.

After taking the oath, the newly elected members of parliament signed the oath book in the room of the Parliament Secretary as per the tradition.

The Deputy Speaker, the Chief Whip of the Opposition, and senior officials of the Parliament Secretariat were present at the oath-taking ceremony.
