New Deputy Commissioners (DCs) appointed in 6 districts

The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 6 districts of the country including Patuakhali, Kushtia, Kurigram, Meherpur, Netrokona and Khulna. A notification in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday (August 25, 2025).

The notification mentioned that Dr. Mohammad Shahid Hossain Chowdhury, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has been made the DC of Patuakhali, Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin, DC of Patuakhali, has been made the DC of Kushtia.

On the other hand, Meherpur DC Sifat Mehnaz has been made the DC of Kurigram, Dr. Mohammad Abdul Salam, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been made the DC of Meherpur, Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman, Zonal Settlement Officer (Deputy Secretary) of the Department of Land Records and Survey has been made the DC of Netrokona and Md. Taufiqur Rahman has been made the DC of Khulna.
