New Aviation Minister and State Minister assume charge

Newly appointed Minister Afroza Khanam (Rita) and State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat have joined the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

A reception was organized at the conference room of the ministry at the Bangladesh Secretariat today, Wednesday (January 18, 2026). Officials and employees of the ministry and subordinate organizations were present at the event. The ministry extended its greetings and congratulations to the newly appointed Minister and State Minister.

At the event, the Minister said, “We have come to cooperate with you. At the same time, we expect sincere cooperation from you. We want to make the activities of this ministry dynamic and fruitful in the public interest through joint efforts.” He emphasized on working on the basis of good governance, transparency and accountability.

In his welcome speech, the State Minister reiterated the promise of the new government’s manifesto and said that effective initiatives will be taken to protect the interests of expatriates and the ‘zero tolerance’ policy against corruption will be strictly implemented. He also emphasized on taking quick and coordinated steps to make the country’s airports profitable and modern.

At the beginning of the program, the Secretary of the Ministry, Nasreen Jahan, presented a PowerPoint presentation on the ongoing activities, development plans and future work plans of the Ministry.

The newly appointed Minister and State Minister sought the sincere cooperation of all concerned to accelerate the activities of the Ministry.
