NIHM is a modern quality training center built in a pleasant environment on the premises of the Bangladesh Navy Training Base ‘School of Logistics and Management’ located in the Luanchara area near the Khan Jahan Ali Bridge (Rupsa Bridge), about 8 kilometers south of Khulna city. It is a professional training institution managed by the Naval Welfare Foundation, which will be run following the policies and standards of the National Skill Development Authority (NSDA) through experienced and modern training facilities.

The main goal of the institution is to prepare male and female trainees as skilled human resources and employable in the hospitality management sector and at the same time to develop discipline, efficiency, ethics and sense of responsibility among the trainees. It is expected that NIHM will make a significant contribution to the overall economic development of the country in addition to developing professional manpower at the national and international levels through high-quality training.

The institution will initially provide modern and quality theoretical and practical training in NSDA approved bakery and pastry production, food and beverage production and food and beverage service, etc. To ensure the high quality of training, all necessary facilities including modern infrastructure, advanced classrooms, well-equipped kitchens, accommodation facilities are available. In addition, activities are underway to build a separate permanent campus with 100% accommodation facilities for male and female trainees.

It is worth noting that NIHM, which is run under the supervision of Bangladesh Navy, has started its activities with three NSDA-approved courses at present, but there are plans to expand the courses in the future. The organization is working to create international standard skilled manpower in the hospitality and management sectors by combining the discipline and professionalism of the Navy, and to create employment opportunities for trainees by signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with various commercial organizations.
