The countdown for the 2nd edition of Notun Kudi Sports, a festival to fulfill the dreams of budding teenagers and young players across the country, has begun. Online registration has officially started today. In order to successfully complete this mega event, a national committee preparatory meeting was held at the conference room of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Wednesday (July 1, 2026).
State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque was present as the chief guest at the meeting and discussed the detailed roadmap of the event. State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury was present as the special guest at the meeting.
The State Minister for Youth and Sports said that ‘Notun Kudi Sports’ officially started from Sylhet on May 2. Its upazila, district and divisional level games have already been successfully completed. The much-awaited national level game is going to start from July 18, the final of which will be held on July 27.
He further mentioned that in the past, the new bud sports started from the upazila level, but this time its activities will start from the union level. Although there were 8 events in the first edition, this time this grand competition will be held with a total of 10 events as table tennis and volleyball have been added.
The State Minister for Information and Broadcasting described this event as very positive and fruitful and said that we are all involved with the new bud in some way or the other. He said that the Directorate of Information (PID) will be fully utilized for the extensive promotion of this tournament at the grassroots and district levels. In addition, special coverage and special interviews of the players will be arranged on BTV News. Keeping in mind the needs of the present era, he called on the OTT platforms to play a significant role in this promotion.
Senior officials of the concerned ministries and departments were present in this preparatory meeting of the national committee.
