Master Class on Painting Matryoshka Dolls for Children

As part of the National Unity Day celebrations, a creative master class on painting traditional Russian matryoshka dolls was held at the Russian House in Dhaka on November 8, 2025. The event was organized by a teacher from St. Petersburg State University in cooperation with the Serov Academy of Fine Arts.

The workshop introduced young participants to one of the most recognizable symbols of Russian culture – wooden stacking dolls known as matryoshkas. At the beginning of the session, children were shown an educational video revealing the history and painting process of these unique items.

30 children had the opportunity to independently paint unpainted matryoshka blanks, demonstrating their creative abilities and imagination. Four authors of the best works were awarded commemorative badges from the Russian House in Dhaka, and all participants received small souvenirs.
