Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) said that the people of Bangladesh have always stood by the oppressed and persecuted people of Palestine. Bangladesh has always supported their just demands. Bangladesh is in favor of the independence and sovereignty of Palestine; in favor of justice and humanity. The rally titled “March for Gaza” held in Dhaka on April 12 in solidarity with the Palestinian people is an expression of Bangladesh’s continued support and solidarity with the Palestinian people.
He said these things when the Advisor met with Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousuf S. Y. Ramadan in his office at the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon (April 15, 2025).

The meeting discussed various issues of mutual interest, including the recent ‘March for Gaza’ rally held in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, the visit of the Palestine TV delegation to Dhaka, and the issuance of a commemorative passport in the name of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Bangladesh.
At the beginning of the meeting, the advisor welcomed the ambassador and said that Palestine is a tested friend of Bangladesh. Our support and cooperation with them will always continue. Expressing sincere thanks and gratitude for the ‘March for Gaza’ program in Dhaka, the Palestinian ambassador said that Bangladesh has done what other Muslim countries, including the Arab world, could not do. He said that the brothers and sisters of Palestine want to know that there must be a special reason why the people of Bangladesh have held such a large protest rally against the barbaric massacre, torture and oppression of Israel. The advisor mentioned the Muslims of Bangladesh as truly devout Muslims as the reason for this.
The Ambassador said that a delegation of ‘Palestine TV’ will visit Bangladesh on May 17 to further sensitize the Palestinian people about Bangladesh’s solidarity and compassion towards Palestine. They will collect detailed information on this issue and make a documentary which will later be aired on Palestine TV. The Ambassador requested the Advisor to issue a commemorative passport in the name of Al-Aqsa Mosque from Bangladesh. The Advisor assured the Ambassador that a commemorative passport will be issued in the name of Al-Aqsa Mosque from Bangladesh with the approval of the concerned authorities including the Office of the Chief Advisor.
Additional Secretary (Political and ICT) of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs Khandaker Md. Mahabubur Rahman and Additional Secretary (Security and Immigration) of the Security Services Department Shamim Khan along with concerned officials of the Ministry were present in the meeting.
