Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has warmly congratulated BNP and its acting chairman Tarique Rahman on their victory in the 13th national parliamentary elections.
In a message, he said, “I sincerely congratulate Mr. Tarique Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on their resounding electoral victory. This is a victory for democracy. The people of Bangladesh have expressed their clear views through the ballot box after overcoming extraordinary challenges.”
He also said that he is grateful to Mohammad Yunus for serving as the Chief Advisor during this important time of change. The Malaysian Prime Minister also mentioned that his leadership and supervision have played a significant role in ensuring the smooth completion of the democratic process.
Regarding bilateral relations, Anwar Ibrahim said that Malaysia is keen to work with the new Bangladeshi leadership to give a new momentum to the relations between the two countries. He extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Bangladesh on behalf of the people of Malaysia.
