InterContinental Dhaka, the iconic luxury hotel by IHG, in association with the High Commission of Malaysia presents Malaysia & Bangladesh Friendship Festival at Elements Global Dining from 4 till 13 December 2025. The festival celebrates the warm bond between Malaysia and Bangladesh, showcased through the rich flavors and vibrant cultures.
The inauguration ceremony of the exclusive festival took place on Thursday (4 December, 2025) at InterContinental Dhaka and was graced by the presence of His Excellency Mr. Mohamad Shuhada Othman, High Commissioner of Malaysia, as the Chief Guest. Representing the culinary delegation, Prof. Dr. Chef Shahrim Karim from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Chef and Culinary Innovator Dzulkifli Bin Abdul, joined the event alongside Executive Chef Julean Botlero of InterContinental Dhaka. The ceremony was also attended by distinguished guests from the High Commission of Malaysia, Mr. Olivier Loreaux (Director of Food & Beverage), Mr. Saadman Salahuddin (Director of Marketing), members of the hotel team, and media representatives.
This unique festival will showcase an array of Malaysian favourites, including Nasi Lemak, Beef Rendang, Cucur Udang, Mee Goreng Mamak, Beef and Chicken Satay, along with many other delectable creations prepared by Guest Chefs Prof. Dr. Chef Shahrim Karim and Chef Dzul. The buffet will also highlight beloved Bangladeshi specialties such as Mutton Biryani, Mezbaani Beef, Kalabhuna, Mutton Nihari, Ruhi Masala, Pomfret Dopiaza, assorted kebabs, bhortas, and a selection of signature local dishes by Executive Chef Julean Botelero and his team. Guests with a sweet tooth can indulge in Sago Gula Melaka, traditional Bangladeshi pithas, payesh, and a variety of classic desserts. To elevate the festival experience, there will be live music performances every evening, adding a special ambiance to the culinary celebration.
