BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has commented that justice has been established through the death sentence handed down to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in the case of crimes against humanity for the July-August 24 genocide.
He made this comment at the end of a seminar titled ‘Transforming the Future of Bangladesh’s Education: A Strategic Roadmap’ organized by the Dhaka University (DU) White Party on Monday (November 17) afternoon.
He said, ‘This trial is not enough compared to the crime, but it is an example for the days ahead and so that in the future no one can establish a fascist regime in this state, no one can become fascist themselves, no dictatorship is established. This is a lesson for the future. It is not just a trial for the past, we have to remember this.’
