Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has directed to keep the July Charter preparation process transparent and visible.
Chief Advisor and Commission Head Professor Muhammad Yunus gave this instruction at a meeting of the National Consensus Commission at the State Guest House Jamuna on Thursday (July 17, 2025).
The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairman of the National Consensus Commission Professor Ali Riaz, members Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Safar Raj Hossain, Justice Emdadul Haque and Dr. Mohammad Ayub Mia. Among others, Principal Secretary to the Chief Advisor Siraj Uddin Mia and Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor Monir Haider were present.
The Chief Advisor was informed about the progress of the work of the Consensus Commission in the meeting. The commission members informed the chief advisor that maximum efforts are being made to complete the work of preparing the July Charter as soon as possible.
Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus congratulated the members of the Consensus Commission for their unique role and efforts.
He said, ‘Every meeting of the Consensus Commission is broadcast live on television, so everyone can see these important discussions. People from home and abroad have widely appreciated this initiative.’
‘This is a historic event. The desire of the mass uprising will be reflected through this. Therefore, the entire process must be completed with transparency, it must be visible to the people,’ he said.
The commission’s vice-chairman, Professor Dr. Ali Riaz, informed the chief advisor that after discussing eight issues in the second phase of the dialogue with political parties, consensus has been reached.
He also said that discussions are underway to reach consensus on seven more issues.
