Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has sought support from the people in building the future of Bangladesh. He said that their main goal is not a power struggle, but establishing good governance in the country. He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a workers’ conference organized at Jessore Eidgah Maidan on Friday (December 27).
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Jamaat wants to build a state where there is a balance between the rich and the poor and everyone’s rights are ensured. We want a society where no one will be a slave to anyone and there will be no division of any kind.”

Organized by the district Jamaat-e-Islami, this conference was attended by people since early morning. By 8 am, the main maidan was filled to the brim. Many, unable to find space, took up positions in the nearby town maidan and surrounding streets. While addressing a crowd of lakhs, the Jamaat Ameer expressed concern over the deterioration of the country’s education system. He said, “The education sector of the country has suffered the most in the last 16 years. We want to build a generation that will lead the country by being well-educated.”
The Jamaat Ameer paid tribute to the martyrs and said, “The blood of martyrs should not be betrayed. The activities of the usurpers and extortionists are harming the country. These must be abandoned.”
The conference was presided over by District Jamaat Ameer Professor Golam Rasool. In addition, central executive member Mobarak Hossain, central working committee member Muhaddis Abdul Khalek, Maulana Azizur Rahman, and leaders of Jhenaidah, Magura, Narail and Chuadanga spoke.
