After a meeting of top leaders of 11 parties at the party office in the capital’s Moghbazar, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that the attacks in the country are worrying and that although winning and losing elections are normal, if there is a question about the acceptability of that victory, it needs to be remedied.
In a press briefing held on Friday (February 13, 2026) evening, he said, “Attacks are being carried out all over the country. There will be winning and losing elections. But if there is a question about that victory, then it must be remedied. No one should be deprived of positive politics.”
The Jamaat Ameer also said that they believe in peaceful politics and give the country’s interests the highest priority. “We are on the path of peace. We love the country. We want the old style of politics not to return to the country,” he said.
Highlighting his commitment to the young society, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Our young people have given us responsibility with their blood. We promise, we will keep our word. We will not compromise. We have no chance to move a hair to protect the rights of citizens.”
