Ishraque Hossain declared as Dhaka South mayor by The court

The court has annulled the results of the Dhaka South City Corporation elections held on February 1, 2020.

On Thursday (March 27), Dhaka’s First Joint District Judge Md. Nurul Islam, who is in charge of the Election Tribunal, announced the verdict. The order cancelled the government’s gazette notification of former mayor Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh as mayor with the boat symbol. It declared Ishraq Hossain, the candidate with the paddy sheaf symbol, as the mayor.

Ishraq Hossain was present in the court during the verdict.
