On Wednesday (March 25, 2026), a 3 (three) member delegation of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, consisting of Jhon Joseph Lis (USA), Nanad Marinkovic (Republic of Serbia) and Maria Chowdhury (Bangladesh), met with the Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament, Barrister Kaiser Kamal, at his office in the Parliament Building.
The delegation discussed in detail the activities of the Parliament, launching basic research projects, the culture and customs of the Parliament, the use of Italian software for the launch of e-Parliament, the proper achievement of legislative and administrative activities, the number of parliamentary committees, strengthening the activities of parliamentary committees, making the Parliament more accountable, the history and tradition of the Parliament, the budget allocation of the Parliament, the activities of the Government Accounts Committee and the practice of the opposition walkout, etc.
At that time, the Deputy Speaker presented his plans to the delegation in response to various questions about the activities of the Bangladesh National Parliament. He expressed his belief in making the Parliament more effective and dynamic as the center of proper practice of democracy.
The delegation expressed satisfaction and optimism with the speech of the Deputy Speaker.
The concerned officials including Secretary of the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat, Kaniz Maula, were present during the meeting.
