Adviser to the Ministry of Industries Adilur Rahman Khan visited BCIC’s chemical godown at Shyampur, Dhaka on Tuesday (26 November 2024).
After visiting the chemical godowns, the industrial adviser interacted with the representatives of chemical traders. During the exchange of views, he said, the safety of the godowns with modern facilities has been ensured by keeping in touch with all related organizations of the government, including the Department of Explosives, Department of Environment, Fire Service and Civil Defense. Therefore, he called upon the chemical traders to rent the godowns and move them from Old Dhaka to expand their business and ensure the safety of people’s lives and property.
The advisor said, based on the terrible fire that happened in the warehouse of chemical products in Churidhatta of Old Dhaka in the past 2019, the chemical warehouses of Old Dhaka are a state-of-the-art opportunity in the 6.17 acres of the Ujala Match Factory in Shyampur, owned by BCIC, in consideration of state emergency needs and public interest and priority projects. – 54 warehouses with facilities have been constructed.
At that time, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Industry Zakia Sultana, Chairman of BCIC Md. Saidur Rahman and representatives of chemical traders of Old Dhaka were present.
