IEBA delegation calls on Korean Ambassador in Dhaka

The International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association (IEBA) delegation, led by Founder and President Md. Al Mamun, paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh, Park Young-sik, at the Korean Embassy in Baridhara on Tuesday (16 September 2025) morning.

According to a press release, the IEBA delegation included Joint Secretary Md. Walid Reza and Personal Secretary to the President Emon Rasul.

The meeting focused on the rising importance of ethnosports in strengthening cultural ties and promoting unity across nations. Ethnosports—sports rooted in heritage and tradition—are steadily gaining global recognition as a means of enhancing cultural diversity and mutual understanding.

In his remarks, Mamun outlined IEBA’s current initiatives and future priorities while reaffirming the association’s commitment to advancing Bangladesh’s presence in the global ethnosport movement. He stressed that ethnosports can play a pivotal role in engaging youth, encouraging intercultural dialogue, and fostering international harmony.

Ambassador Park Young-sik lauded IEBA’s contribution to cultural diplomacy and highlighted Korea’s willingness to collaborate further.

Both parties expressed interest in expanding cooperation through joint ethnosport projects and cultural exchange programs as part of strengthening Korea–Bangladesh relations.
