Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A.M.M. Nasir Uddin has said that he will resign if there is any immoral pressure from the government in the election.
He made these comments while talking to reporters before a view-exchange meeting with election officials of the Rajshahi region on the 13th National Parliament election at the Rajshahi Regional Public Administration Training Center on Saturday (August 23, 2025) at 10 am.
The CEC warned, “If anyone tries to occupy a polling station, the vote of the entire center will be canceled. We will take a strict stance.”
He also said that preparations for the election have been intensified since receiving the letter from the Chief Advisor. The Election Commission is making all-out preparations to hold the election before Ramadan next February.
The CEC also said that work is underway to resolve claims and objections regarding the boundaries of the parliamentary constituencies. He said, “We have tried to work professionally and impartially in redefining the boundaries.”
According to EC sources, the final decision of the commission will be announced after the four-day hearing. After that, the gazette regarding the boundaries of the 300-seat parliamentary constituency will be published.
Rajshahi Regional Election Officer Md. Delwar Hossain and various officials of the election office were present at the meeting.
