I want to work for the people of the entire Jamalpur region: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat

Desk Report:

Jamalpur Samity, Dhaka, accorded a reception to M Rashiduzzaman Millat MP—the Member of Parliament for the Jamalpur-1 constituency—following his appointment as a full Cabinet Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism.

Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat attended the reception ceremony, held at the capital’s Dhaka Club at 6:00 PM on Thursday (September 17, 2026), as the chief guest. Elected Members of Parliament from Jamalpur and leaders from various levels of Jamalpur Samity were present at the event.

Speaking as the chief guest, the Minister said, “It is not just Dewanganj and Bakshiganj; the entire Jamalpur region belongs to me. Throughout my long political career, I have always found the people of Jamalpur standing by my side during various struggles. For this, I remain eternally grateful to you all.”

He remarked that reaching his current position would not have been possible without the prayers and affection of the people of Jamalpur. “I have always aspired to work for the people of Jamalpur. The residents elected me as their Member of Parliament in 2001, and subsequently, in the 13th National Parliamentary Election held in 2026, they entrusted me with the responsibility of representing the Jamalpur-1 constituency for a second term.”

The Minister added, “If one follows an honest path and speaks the truth, one receives the mercy of Almighty Allah. I am living proof of this; it is by Allah’s infinite grace that I serve today as the Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism.”

He also paid respectful tribute to the late Barrister Abdus Salam Talukdar, noting that his leadership was a tremendous asset not only for himself but for the entire population of Jamalpur.

Highlighting various government initiatives for the region’s development, the Minister mentioned that a project has been undertaken to transform Laochapra into an international-standard tourist destination. Additionally, plans are underway to construct a tourism hotel in Jhenaigati. He stated that Jamalpur’s tourist attractions would be promoted systematically to encourage people from across the country to visit the region.

He further informed the gathering that a project to prevent erosion caused by the Jamuna River is currently awaiting approval from ECNEC (Executive Committee of the National Economic Council). He expressed hope that the project would be approved soon, noting that it would protect the ordinary people of Jamalpur from the ravages of river erosion. Towards the end of his speech, the Minister urged everyone to work for the country from their respective positions, driven by a love for the nation, saying, “Let us all come together and work for the country out of love for it, each from our own position.”

Elected Members of Parliament from Jamalpur, leaders at various levels of the Jamalpur Samity (Dhaka), and prominent personalities from Jamalpur were present at the event.
