On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs organized a grand discussion session and an award ceremony to honor outstanding and indomitable women. Nobel laureate economist Professor Muhammad Yunus was present as the Chief Advisor at the event.

This year, the special honor of the ‘Indomitable Women Award 2025’ was bestowed upon the Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket Team. This recognition was awarded as a tribute to their remarkable contribution to the country’s sports sector.
Additionally, five other extraordinary women were recognized in various categories. Sharifa Sultana received the award for economic success, Halima Begum was honored for achievements in education and employment, Marina Besra was recognized as a successful mother, Lipi Begum was acknowledged for overcoming the trauma of abuse and emerging victorious in life, and Muhin (Mohona) was awarded for her contribution to social development.
