Home Ministry provides additional Tk 5 lakh assistance to firefighter Nayan’s family

The Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs has provided additional assistance of five lakh taka to the family of firefighter Md. Swanur Zaman Nayan (24), who died in hospital after being hit by a truck while on duty in a fire accident at the Secretariat.

Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) handed over a check of five (5) lakh taka to Nayan’s parents in his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday (March 10, 2025) afternoon.

Special Assistant to the Principal Advisor on Home Affairs Md. Khoda Baksh Chowdhury, Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department Brigadier General Zahed Kamal were present during the check-giving.

Earlier, on January 6, 2025, the Home Affairs Advisor handed over the first tranche of five lakh taka to Nayan’s parents on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs. In total, a total of 10 (ten) lakh taka has been provided to Nayan’s family by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In addition, the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department provided one lakh taka in cash and another 50 thousand taka for burial expenses to the family of the deceased Nayan on December 26, 2024.

It is worth noting that the village home of firefighter Md. Swanur Zaman Nayan is in Atpunia village, Barabala Union No. 11, Mithapukur Upazila, Rangpur district.
