Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed his determination to make Bangladesh a self-reliant, stable and industrialized nation. He said that the government is working towards ensuring that every citizen of the country can enjoy the just right to prosperity and dignity.
He said these things while addressing a conference titled ‘Trade, Economic Growth and Economic Diplomacy Action Plan’ organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) at a hotel in the capital on Saturday (June 13, 2026).
Mirza Fakhrul said that the government is ready to take any step to open the door to new possibilities. Establishing equality and fairness in the economy and destroying the influence of oligarchs are also among the government’s goals.
“I am not here today as a panelist; rather, I have come to highlight the government’s commitment and commitment to achieving our core goals.”
Referring to the conference’s theme of ‘Addressing Risks, Harnessing Resilience and Moving Forward with New Enthusiasm and Right Direction’, the minister said that it is a reflection of the mindset of building the country’s future. According to him, this initiative clearly proves that the government is ready to take all necessary steps for new possibilities.
He further said, “The current government has been in office for just over 100 days. However, our goals and aspirations are very strong. We want to make Bangladesh a self-reliant, stable and industrialized country, where every citizen enjoys the just right to prosperity and dignity.”
Earlier in the morning, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, along with members of the newly formed Jubo Dal committee, paid homage at the mausoleums of BNP founder former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
While talking to reporters there, he said, “The government’s goal is to ensure equality and fairness in the economy and destroy the oligarchs.”
He expressed hope that Jubo Dal will play an important role in implementing the vision of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. He also said that the government is determined to take the country forward by delegating responsibilities to young leaders.
