Government to work on Urdu-speaking community’s demands for civic amenities and permanent housing: State Minister for Youth and Sports

Desk Report:

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque has expressed his firm conviction that he has been with the Urdu-speaking community in the past, will be with them in the future and will work with utmost sincerity to fulfill their just rights and permanent housing demands.

The State Minister said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a special seminar organized by the Urdu-speaking community at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Thursday (May 21, 2026).

Expressing deep sorrow and concern over the current humanitarian situation in the camps at the seminar, the State Minister said, “Even after 56 years of independence, the basic needs of the residents of these camps have not been met, which is very painful. It is unthinkable how a person can live in this extremely hostile environment for years.” He said, “If necessary, I will personally make a strong demand to the Prime Minister to fulfill your reasonable demands.”

Stressing the importance of employment for Urdu-speaking youth and youth community, Md. Aminul Haque said, a recruitment notification will be published in the Youth Development Department. If any of you apply as per the rules and do well in the aptitude test, he will be given a job on priority basis. The Ministry of Youth and Sports is fully committed to properly evaluating the talent of every youth in the country and making them self-reliant, and the Urdu-speaking youth community will also be involved in this mainstream.

Calling for the formation of a non-discriminatory society, the State Minister said, we want to rise above party and opinion and build a beautiful, harmonious and united social system. Stating that there will be no place for any criminal in the society, he warned that the usurpers and extortionists cannot have any political identity. They must be stopped at any cost and they will never be given a chance to rise again. He called on people from all walks of life to remain united against this evil force.

Talking about the various propaganda being spread on social media at present, he advised everyone to be careful. The State Minister said that a malicious group is continuously spreading false propaganda on social media to spread confusion in the society and the state, which is the responsibility of all of us to stop. Stating that the government is working to ensure the rights of the common people of the country, he said that the implementation of the promises made for the welfare of the people has already started and civic facilities will be delivered to the doorsteps of every citizen.
