Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has organized an Iftar mahfil in honor of diplomats of different countries posted in Dhaka. This Iftar was held at the State Guest House Jamuna in the capital today, Friday (March 6, 2026).

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Dr. Zubaida Rahman and Barrister Zaima Rahman at the Iftar.

In his speech before the Iftar, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that his government is committed to further strengthening Bangladesh’s relations with different countries of the world on the basis of mutual respect, cooperation and trust. He said that Bangladesh has always attached great importance to bilateral and multilateral relations.

The Prime Minister said, “We believe that prosperity is built through cooperation and engagement, not through isolation.”
He also said that today’s Iftar is not just a formal event; rather, it reminds us of the importance of mutual respect, compassion and unity among people of different nations, religions and cultures. These values are the foundation for building a peaceful and tolerant society.




Tarique Rahman said his government will pursue a policy of prudent deregulation, ease the business environment, and create a competitive environment to attract responsible investment.
He said Bangladesh’s foreign policy will be pragmatic and sustainable in light of the principle of ‘friendship with all’ based on mutual interest, trust, and sovereignty. The Prime Minister also stated that Bangladesh is ready for open dialogue and strong cooperation in the coming years by valuing bilateral and multilateral partnerships.
